Eye See U marks the beginning of Dua Tua denim deco! This jacket was entrusted to me for a free design, an exploration of materials, and as a finishing touch, the use of my embroidered bead patches. As the first jacket I intervened with, I was initially scared (panicked!) to start the design and fail in my attempt. But as I began applying color and felt the delight of tracing different figures and effects with a brush on denim, I discovered a new love. The combination of materials like sequins, beads, charms, buttons, and other elements can completely transform a common garment.
Knowing denim and how it behaves according to the material and use is to find a beautiful fiber that can be manipulated, changed, and reinterpreted. Personally, I believe that denim (jeans) has an extensive list of uses, and every day I’m amazed by the amount of emerging art at its mercy. It never goes out of style and can be rough or elegant, simple or ornate, but always useful and recyclable to the last fiber!
