This oriental-inspired purse was once a jacket, but for Tua it was a special creation process that strengthened her love for upcycling. It was born out of a fair, the first one she participated in, held in a beautiful warehouse full of color and art located in Medellin’s creative district.
During the fair, a girl approached Tua, attracted by the different designs displayed at her stand. She asked a few questions for a university project and examined the pieces that caught her eye. A few days after the fair, the girl contacted Tua, offering some jackets that she no longer used and wanted to donate them for the upcycling process in Tua’s unique style.
Weeks later, after a lengthy process, this beautiful purse with functional pockets was born. It features a new design and functionality for this handmade jean piece, which was created 100% from a jacket that had fulfilled its purpose as a garment. Its transformation included materials such as textile paint, beads, patches, and patterns inspired by Yōkai creatures.
